Hey, Huntington! Andrew Tessler here with your fresh copy of the Huntington Daily, filled with all the local information you need to know right now. Enjoy…

First, today’s weather:

Mostly sunny and nice. High: 79 Low: 60.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Huntington:

  1. Huntington Patch wins award at the Folio Awards. The story Islanders & Sandwiches: 1 Year of Blue Line Deli In Huntington won the Best Business feature category. The Folio Awards honors a wide variety of stories, from social media categories to events and more. (Huntington Now)
  2. Schools and banks to be closed Monday for Juneteenth. The federal holiday commemorates June 1865 when slaves in Texas learned they would be free. Huntington Town Hall and other government buildings will also be closed, but trash pick-up will go on as scheduled. (Huntington Now)
  3. Huntington Bodybuilder caught lifting weights on wife’s Instagram while on disability. Anthony Ragusa, 52, was busted by New York State after collecting nearly $200,000 in disability benefits. He claimed he hurt himself at work and couldn’t walk for more than fifteen minutes but started to be investigated in 2017 when he was training for bodybuilding competitions. “Anthony Ragusa swindled taxpayers by claiming the benefits for himself, but was caught in his fraudulent scheme when his wife posted bodybuilding photos of him online. His illegal and shameful actions are an insult to those who actually live with disabilities, and I will always take action to bring fraudsters like Ragusa to justice on behalf of the people”, said AG Letita James.
