Bowling Green’s Patrick Forbes has been named the 2022 Mr. Baseball by the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association as the group also announced its all-state teams on Sunday.

Forbes, a senior University of Louisville commit, held statewide ranks of first in runs scored (67), fifth in batting average (.563), second in home runs (15), sixth in hits (58), second in slugging percentage ( 1.156) and third in runs batted in (57) for the Purples. He helped lead Bowling Green to a 25-10 record and the 4th Region semifinals, where he fell victim to Russell County, the eventual region champion and a state semifinalist set to compete in this weekend’s state baseball tournament final four.

Forbes is the second statewide top player honoree from Bowling Green from this past school year. The Purples’ Turner Buttry was named Mr. Basketball this past season.

From Lexington, Sayre junior Raymond Saatman, a Kentucky commit, made the First Team. Sayre teammate Addison Stockham, also a junior, received honorable mention honors. Lafayette freshman catcher Owen Jenkins was named to the Second Team.

The KHSBCA honors were first reported by Hometown Radio Network’s Joe Mathis,
