Profit Gym and Vargas Boxing Fight Night Inaugural Amateur Boxing Event

Saturday night, Profit Gym and Vargas Boxing delivered Fight Night, their inaugural amateur boxing event. They made it an event as they hosted several vendors in the parking lot, including South Shore Cigar Club, a taco truck, and an adult beverage truck. Thirteen bouts took place. All bouts were amateur. The event was held inside the Vargas Boxing gym in Deer Park, which is located across from Profit Gym.

As the USA Boxing commission judged the fighters, these young amateurs showed off their hard work inside the gym. Each fight was action-packed while the fans cheered on their fighter. Every winner walked off with a beautiful belt and the runner-up received a small trophy.

In the main event, Armoni Gasten pushed through a tough opponent. Gasten used nifty head movement and a strong straight right hand to defeat his foe. This youth fight displayed talent by both fighters. If they keep with the sport and don’t hit a wall of burnout, these young athelets have real potential.

Every fight that took place showed the talent of these young fighters. This amount of young talent in the sport of boxing is incredible. Events like this create a path for these amateur fighters to hone their skills. The support these athletes receive is undeniable as it was a sold out crowd in the blistering heat.

In each bout, the fighters gave their whole heart while competing. As they accumulate expereince these boxers will begin to separate themselves from the others as talent and hard work become the formula to their success.

Another boxer that pulled out a comeback after losing the first round, Issac Bailey received a RSC (Referee Stops The Contest) in the third round at 0:54. Bailey took an 8-count in the first round and then stormed back in the second and third rounds with a snapy jab. He appeared to gain momentum as the fight went on and he continued to deliver straights down the barrel snapping his opponents head back.

Professional Boxer Alex Vargas was in attendance watching on from the audience. Here is what he has to say about the fights taking place at last nights event.

There were a couple of celebrities in attendance last night, as Anthony Scalza (IFBB Olympain), Anthony Tumminello (4-time International Fitness Cover Model – Men’s Fitness Cover twice), and Alex Vargas (Professional Boxer 12-0, 4KOs).

The second event is expected to take place in Fall of 2022. Be sure to follow them on social media at @vargas_boxing and @pro_fitdeerpark.
